As you may know already Lexus made quite a buzz with the LFA supercar  which will be produced in a limited edition of just 500 units. But it appears that Lexus is planning to offer a roadster version of the LFA, probably in larger volumes than the coupe. The new convertible is expected in January 2014, and it will carry the same engine found on the LFA coupe.

For those who don’t know, the Lexus LFA is powered by a 4,805cc capacity V10 engine capable to deliver 560 hp and 480 Nm of torque at 6,800rpm. It can push the car to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.7 seconds while the maximum speed achieved is 325 km/h (202 mph).

The engine is mated to an equally advanced transmission, a purpose-designed six-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox (ASG) that drives the rear wheels via a limited slip differential. But it appears that the convertible is not the only car Lexus is planning. According to reports, a VX seven-seater which will be placed above the RX 350 is possible. Lexus is currently studying a competitor to the Bmw X6 based on the next-gen GS/IS platform.
